Carlsbad, CA (Jul. 18, 2024) – Upper Deck, the worldwide leader in sports and entertainment collectibles, is proud to announce its exclusive autograph trading card deal with ice hockey phenom Macklin Celebrini. Following his official signing with the San Jose Sharks® on July 6 to a three-year, entry-level contract in the NHL, Upper Deck will be the sole producer of Celebrini’s trading cards – holding the rights to use Celebrini’s name, image, likeness, and autograph on Upper Deck trading cards, including popular brands like the Upper Deck Flagship Series, SP Authentic, and O-Pee-Chee-Platinum.
Macklin Celebrini, at just 18 years old, was selected by the San Jose Sharks® as the first overall draft pick in the 2024 Upper Deck NHL DraftTM on Friday, June 28. During his time playing for his college ice hockey team, Celebrini was the youngest player to be awarded with the Hobey Baker Award during his freshman year for being the best college player in the country and has carried an impressive record since. Following his 2023-24 season with the team, Celebrini was named the Hockey East Player of the Year, Hockey East Rookie of the Year, Hockey East Scoring Champion, and additionally won the Hockey East Three-Stars Award – an annual award given to a regular-season player scoring the highest number of points.
