Upper Deck Throwback Thursday Create the Caption Promotion: Pat Riley

When you think NCAA basketball, you think of the colors blue and white. You think of prestigious programs. You think Wall and Rose. Cauley-Stein and the Harrison twins. All are names, which are synonymous with the University of Kentucky. You would have had to be living under a rock the last few months to not know of the seismic accomplishments that this UK squad has amassed this season. I’ll just leave this here: they’re a perfect 36-0 and now sit a mere 160 minutes away from a historic finish. The target on their back has ballooned and the No. 5-seeded West Virginia Mountaineers are salivating at their opportunity to burst the Wildcats’ unblemished season. It’s March. It’s the Sweet Sixteen. Anything can happen. We’ll see you in Cleveland tonight.

With that being said, how well do you know your Kentucky basketball? In our latest “Throwback Thursday” installment, we retreat to the 1964-67 seasons, which featured the starting unit of Larry Conley, Louie Dampier, Thad Jaracz, Tommy Kron and one Pat Riley. Although Riley is predominantly recognized for his NBA career, his time in Lexington should not be forgotten. So let’s put up a throwback card and see if our fans can come up with some great captions for the card!
