When Upper Deck announced the company would be producing a promotional trading card for Jorge Alves, the response was extremely positive. Alves is the inspirational equipment manager for the Carolina Hurricanes who earned the opportunity to play in goal for the team to close out a recent game.
With his Upper Deck Young Guns rookie cards in the production process, Upper Deck wanted to do something special for Alves before his birthday on January 30 and the NHL® All-Star break. So we employed a secret agent with the Canes in Noah Hanifin to surprise Alves with poster sized versions of his rookie card. Alves was thrilled and is planning to have these larger-than-life cards hang in the rooms of his son and nephew.
