Legendary® Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and the Wasp

The new 200-card deluxe box expansion for Legendary® Marvel shrinks down all three Ant-Man movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe into one double-sized set! Rising from his roots as a cat burglar, Scott Lang grows into something larger (and smaller) than himself as he and the Wasp confront Yellowjacket, Ghost, and Kang!

New Keywords

There are 5 new keywords in Legendary® Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and the Wasp that are sure to be a fun and fresh approach to the game! Let’s get into ‘em.

Heist

The elaborate heists of Scott Lang are nothing short of immaculate and Legendary® Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and the Wasp has brought them to you in the form of a new keyword!

The Heist ability allows you to test your skill (and a little bit of luck) against the villains for a chance at getting ahead. You’ll compare the number of non-zero costs you have among your heroes to the victory point value of a newly revealed Villain to determine the outcome of the heist. Will you succeed, barely escape, or get caught red-handed?

This exciting new mechanic puts you right into Ant-Man’s suit, pushing your skill and preparation to its limits for a chance at spoils!

The Big Score | Scott Lang, Cat Burglar Petty Larceny | Scott Lang, Cat Burglar

Double-Cross

It wouldn’t be a true heist without some “allies” betraying the heroes, right? We brought this classic switcharoo to Legendary® Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and the Wasp in the form of the Double-Cross keyword.

The Double-Cross ability forces each player to reveal their hand and discard one of their highest-cost “doubles.” A “double” is a card that has the same cost as another card in your hand. Be sure to keep an eye on your cards and don’t get too attached, you never know when one of your “friends” decides to turn on you!

Here are some cards that might Double-Cross you:

Darren Cross | Mastermind Goliath | Villain - Ghost Chasers

Explore

Join Janet van Dyne and Jentorra on their excursions across the twisting landscapes of the Quantum Realm with the new Explore keyword!

Choosing to Explore allows you to swap out Heroes in the HQ with new options from the Hero deck. By putting a Hero from the HQ on the bottom of the Hero deck, you will reveal two new cards from the Hero deck and choose one to refill the empty HQ space. This a new “Found Hero” and will have special effects with your Explore cards.

Microscopic Size-Changing

Legendary® Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and the Wasp brings a new (and tinier) look to a returning keyword with Microscopic Size-Changing and it’s truly a powerful upgrade!

Take after Ant-Man, Wasp, and their allies, shrinking recruit costs down smaller than atom (not actually, but it feels like it). For each hero type required in that instance of Microscopic Size-Changing, reduce its recruit cost by 2 for each hero of that type you played this turn. Some Villains have this keyword as well and will work similarly but with attack power instead of recruit points.

For example: If a Hero has a recruit cost of 5 and Microscopic Size-Changing [Tech][Tech] and you played 2 [Tech] Heroes this turn, you can recruit it for 4 less (2 less for each Hero).

To put the cherry on top of this already spectacular keyword, if you recruit a Microscopic Size-Changing Hero with enough requisite Heroes played that would reduce its cost below 0, you actually gain Recruit points!

Get as small as possible with these new Microscopic Size-Changers:

Hope Returns | Wasp Yellowjacket Prototype | Villain - Cross Technologies

Antics

Follow suit on Ant-Man’s powers to control ants with the new Antics keyword!

To use a card’s Antics abilities, you must have at least 3 cards that cost 1 or 2 and/or have Size-Changing (Microscopic included). The card with Antic does count towards this number, as well as cards you’ve already played and have in hand. Important to note, you cannot go back to use an Antics ability after you’ve played the card. It’s used at the time of play or not at all.

Check out some of the Antics on these cards:

Revolutionary Anthem | Ant Army Hitch A Ride | Ant-Man

What’s Returning?

In addition to the several new keywords highlighted in Legendary® Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and the Wasp, there are a couple abilities and features that will be making a return! With this expansion, you will also be seeing Conquerer, original Size-Changing, and Transforming masterminds.

Here are a few new cards with the familiar features:

Pursuit Craft | Villain - Armada of Kang Look Out For the Little Guy! | Ant-Man Ghost, Master Thief | Mastermind

New Card Type!

New keywords are not the only awesome addition to the expansion… we are getting a whole new card type!

Ambush Scheme

Just like you might be ambushed by a Villain, you can now be ambushed by a scheme! Ambush Schemes are shuffled into the Villain deck alongside their respective Villain Group. When an Ambush Scheme is played from the Villain deck, you place it next to the normal scheme and resolve its Ambush Effect. Now every time a Scheme Twist arises, you will trigger BOTH Schemes. Fear not, Ambush Schemes can be defeated just like normal Schemes, so make sure to keep an eye on it!

You might get ambushed by these new schemes:

High-Speed Car Chase | Ghost Chasers Quantumania | Quantum Realm
