Summoning Champions
You can summon a Champion by paying their Influence cost. You can only control six champions on the battlefield at any time. Some Champions may also contain the “Fabled” trait. You may only control one Fabled Champion with the same name at a time. Fabled Champions can also be distinguished by their lack of Infusion Allowance as well.
Raiding with a Champion
Raiding for, and securing Ikorr with Champions, is your most direct way to win the game. Therefore, the majority of your deck will likely be comprised of Champion cards. Champions can immediately raid for Ikorr during the turn they are summoned! At any point during your Action Phase, you can declare a raid. Declare a raid by choosing a raiding Champion and storing Ikorr directly on this Champion. In this case, we would place a single Ikorr onto the Wandering Tengu. You secure all stored Ikorr at the beginning of your next turn if your Champion is still standing.
Attacking with a Champion
When Champions are first summoned, they cannot immediately attack. In subsequent turns you can declare an attack at any time during your Action Phase. To declare an attack, choose a Champion you control and an opposing Champion within targeted range. The two Champions strike and deal damage to each other (track damage with tokens or dice). Just keep in mind that a Champion can only attack or raid once during your turns. With our Wandering Tengu we can declare an attack for three damage and take three damage before it dies. (Not a problem though because a second one will likely take its place)
Deckbuilding Considerations
Just as a reminder, your deck can only contain aspects that align with the ones noted on your Avatar. Keep in mind that all your champions with Infusion allowance, one or greater can have an Infusion if it meets the requirements, if any, for that Infusion. Make sure to also add a mixture of champions that are good at both raiding and attacking.
